Procedure

You could submit your work and get the opportunity to present on stage during BMUC 2026 on 27 & 28 March 2026. Out of the submitted abstracts, the BMUC board has selected 1 winner to give a presentation during the plenary poster contest session.

This winner will receive the poster price of 750 euro!

In any case: if your abstract is approved, your poster will be published online and you are invited to bring the printed version to the meeting. For every abstract that is submitted, at least one of the authors must be present during the meeting. Please note that the first author needs to be working in Belgium.

Review

Abstracts submitted before the extended deadline of 4 March 2026 will be reviewed by the BMUC board. Within 2 weeks after the submission deadline, the author will be notified whether the abstract has been accepted or not. The winner will receive a separate email at a later stage.

Approval

If your abstract is approved by the board, you can submit your e-poster in PDF format by sending it to info@bmuc.be.

Format: A1 size, portrait style. Please bring a printed version of the poster with you to the meeting on 27 & 28 March 2026. Poster boards and material to hang the poster will be provided by the organisation.

If you need to withdraw your abstract, a written statement describing the reasons for the withdrawal must be sent to info@bmuc.be

Posters will be published on the BMUC website and will be visible for all website visitors.

Winning abstract

The winning abstract submitter will receive a separate email at a later stage with more information on the poster contest with oral presentation during the main scientific programme on Saturday 28 March 2026 at 11h15.

Abstract rules & specifications
Rules & specifications:
  • All abstracts must be written in English.
  • Abstract length is limited to 450 words. The character limit includes the abstract text, table and picture, but not the title and the authors.
  • Abstracts should include: Introduction & Objectives / Materials & methods / Results / Conclusions
  • Figures, tables and/or pictures can be added under ‘More information’.
  • The title and body text must not contain information such as names of the authors, names of institute or company, trademarks (generic names should be used), website and email addresses.
  • If the author(s) have any commercial interests or associations that might pose a conflict of interest regarding this submission, they must be declared by email.
  • You are responsible for the content and accuracy of the abstract.
  • You confirm that the abstract submission has been approved by all authors.
  • The abstract will be published exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done.
  • In case you need to edit your submitted abstract, you can do this until the abstract submission deadline – please email the organisation.
  • Encore abstracts can be submitted.
  • Abstracts will not be accepted after the submission deadline.
  • There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author may submit, but you should not submit the same data twice, even in a different format. Duplicate abstracts will be deleted.
  • Please note that, if you have submitted an abstract, you still have to register for the meeting.
  • If applicable, a winning poster can’t be presented by an employee from a pharmaceutical / device company.
  • In case of issues with adding symbols: you can search the symbol via e.g. Google Search and copy paste the symbol.
  • The person who submits the abstract will be listed as the first and contact author, and therefore all communications will be directed to them.
